The Challenge
Ports present one of the most complex fire safety environments, with fuel storage, bulk cargo, confined spaces, heavy machinery, and a constantly changing workforce. Training thousands of employees, contractors, and seasonal workers to respond consistently during fire emergencies is a significant operational challenge.
Traditional classroom sessions and occasional live fire drills provide limited hands-on experience, are difficult to scale, and cannot safely recreate realistic emergency situations. Adani Ports required a solution that could deliver standardized, immersive fire safety training to large groups while maintaining uninterrupted port operations.
Spatio built a VR Fire Safety Training Simulator, enabling thousands of workers to practice emergency response safely, consistently, and at enterprise scale.
The simulator recreates realistic port environments where trainees identify fire hazards, classify different fire types, select the appropriate extinguisher, and execute the PASS (Pull, Aim, Squeeze, Sweep) technique under time-critical conditions. Workers progress through guided learning before entering scenario-based emergencies that test their decision-making, procedural knowledge, and emergency response.
Supported by Spatio’s on-site delivery team, large batches of employees – including new recruits, contractors, and rotational workers – can be trained and certified efficiently. Every assessment is recorded through the integrated LMS, providing complete visibility into workforce readiness and compliance.
